The forged hollow body construction features a soft 8620 carbon steel body paired with an incredibly thin forged 4140 steel face and Thru-Slot Speed Pocket™ for a design that is fast, flexible, and forgiving even in a compact head shape. The FLTD CG strategically positions the center of gravity (CG) to provide players with improved launch and playability in long irons while increasing spin in scoring irons. The feel and feedback from the Taylormade 2023 P770 irons compare to other players irons. It sacrifices some distance and forgiveness in order to prioritize feel, feedback, workability, and launch. An iron with similar feel would be the Mizuno Pro 223, Callaway Apex, or Srixon ZX7 iron sets. The forged construction head makes the feel and responsiveness off center strikes incredibly reliable and consistent.

How forgiving are the TaylorMade 2023 P770 Irons, and will they help me hit straighter shots?

The Taylormade 2023 P770 irons are a very impressive and consistent iron. Although, they are not very forgiving compared to the whole Taylormade iron lineup. More forgiving options are the P790, Stealth, and Stealth HD irons. The P770 irons are for the more advanced golfer, and can still help hit straight shots. Irons designed for advanced golfers are meant to produce consistency and help hit the same straight ball flight from one shot to the next. Some of the more forgiving iron options will promote hitting straighter shots in a different way, where they can eliminate a slice and provide assistance getting the ball in the air.

Are the TaylorMade 2023 P770 Irons suitable for golfers of all skill levels, or are they better suited for advanced golfers?

The best golfer suitable for the Taylormade P770 irons are a mid to low handicapper. The full iron set would be targeted to that area of players. The P770 irons require a more advanced level of ball striking compared to other irons. More advanced players who would prefer extra ball striking help in their longer irons would benefit from a combo set with the P790 irons. On the other hand, less advanced players can use the P770s in the longer irons to gain more confidence from the P7MCs. Overall, an advanced golfer would be best suited for these clubs.

Switched to these from 2021 T100 irons. Needed a bit more forgiveness on off center hits. Nice to be able to miss the center of the face and still reach the green.
