The Rossignol Black Ops 92 is the perfect ski for the intermediate skier who's progressing to advanced. It's ideal for pushing the boundaries into off-piste freeride terrains like moguls, trees. and even dabbling in the terrain park without being overpowering. It will never demand a skier to go faster than their comfortable with or require being muscled out of locked in turns. The ease of turn initiation and well balanced combination of surfiness and steady tracking are the main draws in addition to the attractive top sheet. It does only have a simple Paulownia wood as the core though and in spite of the vertical sidewalls that add torsional rigidity, it does hit its speed limit pretty quickly going full tilt, straight line down the face of the hill, so those with a pension for keeping their foot on the gas pedal might look elsewhere.
Ideal for
- Intermediate skiers pushing to advanced
- Improving skills in free ride environments like moguls, park, and trees with easy turning and control
- Versatile for all mountain skiing in all of but the most extreme conditions
Not ideal for
- The paulownia wood core has its limits at top speed without the reinforcement of stiffer core materials
- The 92 underfoot isn't going to give the most float on days deeper then 5"

Josh helped me figure out exactly what it is that I needed. Ive been a skateboarder for 20+ years and he has helped me transition to snowboarding by guiding me into the direction that most fits a person with heavy skateboarding background. I am truly grateful for the time Daniela spent taking care of my many questions as I decided on equipment for skiing. There are so many measurements to deal with (Daniela mentioned ones I didn’t even know I needed to know) it was frustrating. She held my hand, and I’m confident I have something for my skill level. I was in the market for a new snowboard and bindings for the 2024 season. I have had the same set up for about 10 years now and was ready to invest in a solid set up.
