The Edel SMS wedge is next level. The look and feel are top notch due to the Edel milling process. Where this wedge really stands out is in the adjustable weight technology. No other wedge on the market offers this. By having two lighter weights and one heavier weight, you are able to move the center of gravity around, resulting in different spins and ball flights and allowing you dial this in for your preferred flight and spin. With several grind options available, you can take optimization a step further based on how you swing your wedges (steep versus shallow) and how you like the club to interact with the ground. I was shocked to see my spin rate jump from 9,000 rpms with my Vokey to 10,200 with the Edel SMS! While this wedge delivers great performance, the main drawback is in the amount of options for optimization. With quite a few options, you need to do additional research on your own, and possibly some fitting to dial this wedge in. The weights are adjustable, so if you don’t quite have them set up perfect when you first use the wedge, you can adjust them around and find a setting you like. Overall, this is an amazing wedge and perfect for anyone looking to optimize their wedge performance without sacrificing the classic look of their wedge.
