*Size UP at minimum 1 size
Originally posted at www.burton.com on Nov 25, 2024Size-up in this jacket. I have had my eye on a Purple AK for MANY years and finally there is one. Only to find out there are hardly any sizes available in Canada, and this early in the season, there are literally none to be found. My parents bought me one for my birthday and all my previous burton jackets are M or SM. I wanted a M to have more room for layers etc and so the M was purchased. I tried it on, it fits okay, but snug, so I would like a L or XL for more room (FYI, I am liek 5'3, 135ish lbs, not big by any means and M is "too small"). I have never been a L in anything I have ever owned. This M fits more like an XS or S. I compared with other jackets and it is much smaller. You would think exchanging for a larger size at the beginning of the season (November) wouldn't be an issue. . . but there is literally ZERO stock anywhere in the L or XL. I am so disappointed as I have been dreaming of an AK for years . . . and now I have to decide to return the M or tough it out with it being a bit small . . . very frustrated . . . I wish they had put on the description in bold that it was a small fit and to size up. Even the picture of the model wearing it makes it look much bigger with room for layers than what it is.

Great but smaller sizing
Originally posted at www.burton.com on Nov 8, 2024Great cut and feel, looks like a top notch jacket. Sizing ran small, I own a Tusk jacket in large for comparison and it feels baggier. I ended up getting an XL in this jacket and it's slightly baggy. The large was too fitted to really think about adding in layers for cold days. Hoping to take this out touring and for resort, but primarily resort skiing since it's a bit heavier than a shell.

We started looking at a new ski set starting last year and here we are a year later and I have my gear on the way. Luke was able to guide me through sizing new boots, answer all my questions, and recommend just what I needed. Finally going to be back on my own skis this year, sooo excited! Thanks Luke

Spencer is the absolute best!
5 /5
Spencer was so helpful and kind to me. As a first time rider I was very nervous about getting the right gear that would fit me and be good for me as a beginner. Without hesitation Spencer has sent me a curated list that I completely loved and agreed with. All of his recommendations fit my criteria perfectly and when I asked for some else or something different he got it to me within a matter of seconds. I would recommend Spencer to literally anyone. Fast, knowledgeable, and kind. Absolutely loved him and makes me want to get out there even more!! 100/10

I have been conversing with Ken for over a year he would curate me a set up and I’d just ghost him. Well today I finally made the purchase and I feel confident he helped me choose the correct set up for my specific needs, and challenges. Plus he always recommended cost effective choices without the helmet my set up would have been under $600 which is killer because I got suckered into a blemed demo board 2 yrs ago that I paid $550 for just the board. Thank you Ken! I should be a pro soon if not it’s his fault! ;)

Helpful at every turn!

Really appreciated Taylor's willingness to listen and learn my ride style/life style to recommend a board that would suit me for this season of life. I've ridden rental boards for years and it was time to commit to my own rig. He had first hand experience on many of the boards I was considering and every bit of advice helped steer me into what I think will be the best board for me. Stoked for it to arrive and get it out on the mountain! Thanks for everything, Taylor!

This is my first board purchase and I had done a lot of research but making the final decision was daunting. Scott was super helpful, understood what would work for my skill level, and I'm suuuuper excited about what I ended up getting. It wasn't what I had in my cart initially but he gave great recommendations with lots of options. Can't wait to get on the mountain!!

We’ve been messaging back and forth for over a month and as I gave him new information about my background and how I was progressing in snowboarding he continued to give me suggestions until I finally made a decision based on his recommendations. He was very encouraging and helpful the entire time!
