PLAYERS DISTANCE IRON SHAPES

A slightly wider sole with moderate blade length and offset help ZX5 Mk II cavity back Irons give attuned golfers enhanced distance, forgiveness, and workability while displaying a clean look at address.

PROGRESSIVE GROOVES

The 3i–7i feature wide grooves, ideal for longer shots in all conditions. The 8i–AW have deeper, closer set grooves which cut through grass and debris to enhance spin on approach shots. Laser milling between each groove, on every loft, enhances friction in all conditions.

How forgiving are the Srixon ZX5 MKII Irons, and will they help me hit straighter shots?
The Srixon ZX5 MKII irons are suitable for mid handicap players and offer a mid level of forgiveness. They are designed to help out players in many different areas of their game which mean that it offers aspects of all iron benefits. They have a forged head, which will help with consistency in ball flights and hitting straight shots. Are the Srixon ZX5 MKII Irons suitable for golfers of all skill levels, or are they better suited for advanced golfers?
The best golfer for the Srixon ZX5 MKII irons are a middle handicapper. The full iron set would be targeted to that area of players. However, more advanced players who would like extra ball striking help in their longer irons would benefit from a combo set with the ZX7 MKII irons. On the other hand, less advanced players can use the ZX4 MKII in the longer irons to gain more confidence from the ZX5.

Srixon ZX5 Mk II Irons offer low- to mid- handicap golfers the perfect union of razor-sharp looks, power, and playability. These cavity back, players distance irons combine premium forged feel with advanced distance technology. Featuring a narrow topline with moderate sole width, blade length, and offset.

  • MainFrame: MainFrame is a variable thickness pattern of grooves, channels, and cavities carefully milled into the backside of ZX5 Mk II iron faces that maximizes flex at impact. MainFrame not only boosts COR, it also repositions mass away from the face and into the toe and sole for a lower Center of Gravity. This creates more than just faster ball speed, but also more consistency and forgiveness, enhancing all aspects of your iron play, shot for shot.
  • Tour V.T. Sole: Our dynamic Tour V.T. Sole helps maintain clubhead speed through impact for clean strikes across fairway, rough, and sand - even if you contact the turf slightly behind the ball. A higher bounce on the leading edge prevents digging; then, a lower bounce on the trailing edge curves away from the turf, so you can still manipulate face angle for maximum workability.
  • Progressive Grooves: The 3i - 7i feature wider grooves, ideal for longer shots in all conditions. The 8i - AW have deeper, closer set grooves which cut through grass and debris to enhance spin on approach shots. Laser milling between each groove, on every hit, enhances friction in all conditions. The result is congruency across the set, as spin, distance, and launch window remain as consistent as possible.

Mid cappers who are seeking something more refined, but not lacking all of the forgiveness. The mainframe features a variable thickness across the face which helps maximize face flex at impact to achieve higher ball speeds. The PD iron shape inspires confidence while not being overly big and bulky like a GI iron. The 3-7 irons have wider grooves, while the 8i and up have deeper tighter grooves to help check the ball on the greens. Overall this is one of the better new PD releases!
