This ball is definitely more for the lower handicap, but for those players, you receive everything you could ask for out of a ball. You get great distance, great feel, great spin, and very good green side spin. However, if you are a mid to high handicap golfer, there are certainly more forgiving, softer balls on the market.

Right performance characteristics

As everyone notes, the level of spin is consistent and helpful for short irons. Z Star is comparable in performance with the Maxfli Tour ball, which is notably $10 cheaper per dozen retail. Good idea to look for Srixon's volume discounts to equalize pricing. I wonder if Srixon would come out ahead by dropping price per dozen to $45.
