The base of the bindings is made from material called Duraflex, which is lightweight and strong. Inside the base, the elements are made from a material called ethylene-vinyl acetate, a foamed rubber that excellently absorbs vibrations during impacts, jumps, etc. This same material is used in running shoes and many other interesting items. Next, extruded aluminum is used for the highback - it's rigid, strong, doesn't bend or break. The stiffness of the bindings themselves is a six, while the highback stiffness is a seven. The highback is quite stiff, it doesn't bend like on other bindings, and you can't bend it as you can with the Union Contact Pro. The adjustment of the highback is done using a screwdriver. There's not just an up-and-down adjustment, but you can also flip the highback and turn the bindings into very cool front-ends. There is a double adjustment for the strap up-and-down for the lower strap and a tool-less adjustment for the upper strap. The footbed, while flexible, effectively transmits force without loss, ensuring efficient power delivery during the ride. I tried some maneuvers, like climbing and jumping on them. The bindings held firm, and there was no rebound effect. It's also important to note that the Union Strata bindings have a smaller footprint on the board compared to the Union Contact Pro, which allows for using narrower boards. They are perfect for freeriding and good for freestyle, and jumps.
