This is far and away my favorite shell-style ski bib.
I had gone between insulated inbounts pants and breathable touring pants, but the Baker Bib from Flylow checks all of my boxes. The burly 20k fabric and tough knee and cuff inserts make this a no brainer for inbounds skiing. But the ample venting (inseam and outer knee) make it a great choice for ski touring as well.
The thoughtful pocket layout make stashing phone, keys and wallet intuitive. and the looser fit makes it easy to layer under the bibs on chilly days (I fell between sizes and chose to size up--very glad I did).
After a season of true 50/50 inbounds and touring use, I can confidently say that the Baker Bib is one that I'll continue to use and abuse. It's my one pair that I grab regardless of where I'm headed--a day ripping steep and bootpacking on the hill, or a weekend hut trip.
- A great do-it-all bib for both inbounds and backcountry skiing. Generous vents and surprisingly breathable for such burly fabric.
- The inserts at the knees and boot cuffs make this a pant that can take a beating. Definitely the most bomb-proof pant I've used.
- Well thought out pockets on both the lowers and the chest portion of the pant. Some touring-specific features like a beacon pocket and drop seat.
- When in doubt, definitely size up (can be a bit snug in the seat)
