The Stratos is a hybrid all-mountain board built with the body of a directional freeride board and the spirit of a freestyle board. The Stratos has a playful board feel thanks to a narrow sidecut and friendly flex, but the 10mm of taper and 3D Contour Base 3.0 give it the float and turn performance of a pow board. The directional rocker profile and Traction Tech 3.0 keep the Stratos locked on edge accelerating into carves and the textured Eco-plastic top sheet and Basalt stringers add torsional response and reduce board chatter in rough terrain. The Stratos also features Float Pack inserts that offer a setback stance option for the deepest days.

I usually ride a 162. The first thing I want to mention is its cool design. The board is indeed beautifully made. Now, about its technical characteristics, the first thing I want to highlight about this board is its incredible edge control. Its geometry has a huge camber, and the rocker only starts in a specific part. If you look... Read more

I will just say that this board will challenge your technique and skills but will reward you with sharp turns and locked-in edges if you can power through. The tail of the board does not have much rocker and is not very forgiving if you get lazy. When blowing through some chunder and dodging small humans, I almost ate it... Read more

At first glance, I wasn't really sure what the Stratos was all about but when I finally got a chance to ride it, I found that Jones' description was true: The Stratos looks like a freeride/powder board and it because of the extra nose, short tail, and some taper it does have some nice float but underfoot it really feels... Woods Weapon
Originally posted at www.jonessnowboards.com on Sep 2, 2024For 23/24 season I rode the Stratos solid 153 at 5’4”, around 140-145lbs, at the most narrow +/+ stance, around 500k vertical feet.
The 153 is a woods weapon. If it’s a powder day, then I’m in the trees, strapped to the Stratos, and having fun. Great balance between float and agility.
It’s also a reliable all-mountain board: plenty of stability and edge hold, glides down the cat tracks. Might be worth sizing up though if you’re more all-mountain. Especially on deeper days the shorter board is going to make you work for it. And that’s my one issue … I can’t use the set back stance on powder days. I’d upgrade in a heartbeat if they made narrower binding settings that were appropriate for the shorter board length, or if they made set backs for the front foot. Being stuck on the narrowest middle setting, the board wants to nosedive in deep stuff. Worth it for the steeper woods riding, but just be ready to lean back and burn for that pillowy line after jealously eyeing a storm wolf on the lift line.
Also rode the 156. Not surprisingly, the longer board had better float, and was less agile.
And the split 159. Kind of a controlled surfy feel in comparison. Having both reliable edge control and extra float is useful when you’re out of bounds on varied terrain.

A-DO-IT-ALL Board
Originally posted at www.jonessnowboards.com on May 14, 2024The Stratos is a very versatile board, from powder to slush to frozen chunks it just powers through it all. Being able to experience the Flagship and Stratos, I can safely say this model of Stratos is a lot stiffer from the first insert pack all the way back through the tail. Its rated at a 7/10. From the riding it definitely rides stiffer than a 7, it is stiffer than the Flagship and the Flagship is rated at an 8. The 3D spoon nose is near perfection to initiate turns and keep the nose afloat through powder. I recommend this board to anyone looking for a directional board that can do it all!

Better than shopping in a store!
5 /5
I have been looking for skis for this upcoming winter, but honestly, i'm a rookie & had some (alot) of questions. I wanted to learn a little about what gear was recommended to me, and why it was selected- not because I didn't trust it- but, because I like to understand the thought process that goes into it! It's just the way I process things. But, Thomas was patient & happily explained everything to me. I also am horribly inconsistent with my response times, and regardless of when I messaged, he always responded in a matter of minutes. I feel like sometimes when I go shopping in person and someone is helping me, I feel pressured to take their recommendation, and like I have to buy something- so using curated was a lot more appealing to me, and I cannot recommend it enough!

Kat was so much fun to talk to, and offered amazing advice. She even gave a video explaining everything she selected and why. Answered my questions, and even watched the items I wanted until I could decide I really wanted them! This was a great experience and I will definitely come back to Kat if I need help in the future.

Mad respect for Chris who went the extra mile to find me the perfect fit. Every recommendation was followed up with a thorough comparison of all my options and what made them stand out from each other. He even recorded videos, dude. Really, what more could you ask for. And still he’s not the type to try to convince you that somethings great. He just offers up all the facts to let you sit back and feel things out for yourself. Super friendly, reassuring, and will never leave you hanging. I came back to Chris for new recommendations after ghosting him for an entire season and it felt like picking up where you left off with an old friend. Super knowledgeable about the sport and how certain brands will cater to your riding style. Really appreciated that he didn’t recommend the same style of board over and over from different brands. Since he tossed up boards that had a lot of differing features he helped me find something I hadn’t considered before and taught me so much about snowboarding along the way. So if you’re looking for something that will set you apart from the rest, Chris has your back. I ended up going with his top choice for me and I couldn’t be more jacked. Will definitely be coming back for advice down the line, and can’t wait to let him know how much his pick shreds this winter. Cheers mate!

Tyler made it easy…

I’m so busy fighting fire and just haven’t had the time to really get into the details on the zillions of snowboards available. I did have time to share what I needed with Tyler and he was quickly responding with some recommendations. He seemed pretty dialed with his reasoning and helped finalize my choice. So less stressful having the help!

I knew I wanted skiing gear for the season, but didn’t know anything about the ski gear. Leo walked me through some great options and explained the differences. I really appreciate that he found sales items. On an aesthetic level he made sure things looked like they went together instead of just a random assortment of colors.

I was looking to purchase a new setup (snowboard, boots, bindings, and googles) for the upcoming season. Everything I have is very worn out. The last time I purchased a new setup was ten years ago, and I did not know where to start. So, I went through the "find your snowboard" quiz and was matched with Mike. From there we were able to really dial in my setup. I can't wait to try it out! Thank you Mike!

I'm getting back into snowboarding after a lonnngg hiatus and Leif knew exactly what I needed for both my skill level and the exact mountain I will be spending time at this winter. I had a pretty small budget considering the cost of gear and he found me a board and bindings way under budget. I was thrilled. I was also delighted that I got a personalized video describing my options. Highly recommended!

Ryan was very helpful, friendly and knowledgeable. I can in knowing nothing about snowboards and I gave him a weird task of trying to find a board that would work for both me and my brother at different weights. I appreciate how happy he was to help and how he kept checking in on me wanting to help.
