Who would love these

The Armada ARV 100 Skis are perfect for freestyle skiers who want a twin-tip ski that can rip through the park, but is also capable of carving down groomers and ripping off-piste terrain. And, with a 100 mm waist, they can still float on the occasional powder day too.

Why I recommend these

Versatile All-Mountain and Park Ski
Lightweight Caruba Core
Durable w3Dgewall Construction
Flexible for Jumps and Tricks

Expert verdict

For as long as I can remember, the ARV has been Armada's go-to twin tip all-mountain ski, but for 2024, they divided the ski into more differing widths for more choices for the discerning skier. I have found the ARV 100 to be the most versatile: it can carve efficiently on groomers, can maneuver easily off-piste, and is still light enough to go rip some laps through the park! These are great for skiers wanting a more poppy and playful ride as opposed to a stiff, heavy ski. Plus, the w3Dgewall construction ensures they can stand up to lots of abuse in the park. While they excel for more playful freestyle skiing, they aren't as ideal for very heavy or very aggressive skiers who demand a stable ski at any speed; these skis are more about catching air and bouncing off natural hits and jumps. I was worried that the ARV 100 might be too soft for me, but I have been very impressed with how well-rounded it has been for a softer flexing ski.

An entirely new creation, the ARV 100 is the all-mountain freestyle king with a 100mm waist and AR Freestyle Rocker providing exceptional all-around versatility. Whether sending it in the park or charging around the mountain in search of a few inches of fresh snow, the wider platform and rocker in the tips and tails deliver a solid platform for rutted out landings and variable conditions. The ultralight Caruba Core keeps the weight to a minimum, enabling bigger tricks with less effort, while the w3Dgewall construction ensures bombproof durability. With the softest flex profile of the new ARV Series, the ARV 100 is the ski of choice for butters and presses inside the park and out. Ski anywhere you like any way you want. The ARV 100 has your back.

I had a blast on the Armada ARV 100's - supremely versatile freestyle ski that can hold its own in a bit of powder while still feeling intuitive while lapping the park. Not as much camber underfoot as the ARV 88's allows this ski to feel a bit more surfy and playful. Well balanced flex rating provides stability at higher... Read more
Ideal for
  • At 100mm underfoot, the ARV 100 offers a bit more float than narrower skis, allowing this ski to excel in fresh snow
  • Full tip/tail rocker with symmetrical design allows for ease of skiing switch and hitting features or landing switch
  • Not as much camber underfoot as the ARV 88's offers a more surfy feel and easier to pivot in ungroomed terrain
Not ideal for
  • The ARV 100 doesn't offer quite as much float as a true powder ski at 100mm underfoot

I will admit I was quite skeptical when I first stepped into my new ARV 100s. Being an ex-racer, I had never owned a twin tip before, much less such a soft ski, and I was afraid it would not stand up to more aggressive skiing. Boy, was I wrong! The ARV 100, a brand-new ski from... Read more
Ideal for
  • With a softer, more forgiving flex, the ARV is very easy to turn for any type of skier.
  • The ARV is great for getting some air and throwing some tricks due to its twin tip design and low swing-weight.
  • Despite being a softer, more playful ski, the ARV is very adept at carving; it holds a nice edge and arcs cleanly.
Not ideal for
  • The ARV's softer flex is a liability at very high speeds and in very icy conditions, where the ski is more prone to chatter.
  • Armada did beef up the sidewalls and edges of the ARV for 2024, but the topsheet is still prone to some peeling.

The Armada ARV 100 is a solid all-mountain ski. Despite being a freestyle ski, it holds an edge really well. The whole mountain + the park. A fun, playful ski

Originally posted at www.armadaskis.com on Mar 21, 2024
The 100 is a favorite ski of mine now. I've taken it out for plenty of laps through the park and all over the mountain including a 4-6 inch powder day but nothing deeper. I own the ARV 94 and 100 from the 2024 lineup, and the 96, 106, and JJ 116 from the 2023 line. I'm a huge fan of the ARV. I ski about 30-40 days a year in the PNW and Utah. I ski the whole mountain, steep lines, tight trees, fun side hits, jumps in the park. The ARV 100 is soft, softer than the 94 and old 96, and substantially softer than the 106. That makes it super fun and playful, but not a hard charger like the106 which is substantially more stiff. If you are between the 106 and the 100, the 106 is not simply the 100 + 6mm at the waist. They are very different skis. 106 charges with some play, 100 plays with some charge. Here's how I think of the ARV lineup: I've put decent time on all of them under most conditions. Ripping groomers and planning to spend most of the day in the park: 94 (or old 96) Day after the storm, or about 6 inches of powder or feel like blasting high speed runs:106 Big pow day is the 116 of course A few inches of fresh snow, or planning to ski the whole mountain with friends/family and maybe take a few park laps: 100 If I had to pick only 1 ski to ski everyday though, it would be the 100. The 100 is only marginally different than the 94 on paper, that little extra width, softer flex, a bit longer radius. I'd say on snow they are different, but in degrees, not magnitude. The 94 is a bit snappier, easier to turn, quicker edge to edge, and has a bit more energy, but it doesn't float as well as the 100, and feels less playful when the snow is soft. The only limit I found with the 100 was when hitting high speed runs that have have some chop: it gets tossed and bucked unlike the 106 that plows over anything in its path. In the park I can flip, spin, and feel super comfy and balanced on the 100, more so than I do on the 106 which is heavier and a bit more work to spin and flip. The 100 is a great ski if you are the type to hit a few park runs, then find yourself boosting side hits and treating the whole mountain as a playground. I'm 6' tall, 180 lbs, and ski the 186 length mounted at the factory line. *one side note on mounting points. I spent 2 seasons experimenting with the team and factory lines of all the ARV's. The two mounting lines on the ski really do cater to different types of skiing styles regardless of which ski you choose. I ski on the front of my boot, and when I had my106's and 116's at the team mount, I got substantial tip dive in powder. Someone who skis more upright likely won't have as much issue there. The 96 felt fine at team mount though the front of the skis felt quite short when going fast. I now ski all of the ARV's at factory rec. To me they ski switch well enough at factory, though team is better. The key point for me, is that factory mounted suits my style of skiing which is more forward, more shin on boot. The choice really is as easy as, do I ski more upright or need the best setup for switch riding (team), or with more shin on boot looking for greater control at the front edge of the skis (factory).

We started looking at a new ski set starting last year and here we are a year later and I have my gear on the way. Spencer was so helpful and kind to me. As a first time rider I was very nervous about getting the right gear that would fit me and be good for me as a beginner. Without hesitation Spencer has sent me a curated list that I completely loved and agreed with. All of his recommendations fit my criteria perfectly and when I asked for some else or something different he got it to me within a matter of seconds. I would recommend Spencer to literally anyone. Fast, knowledgeable, and kind. Absolutely loved him and makes me want to get out there even more!! 100/10

I have been conversing with Ken for over a year he would curate me a set up and I’d just ghost him. Well today I finally made the purchase and I feel confident he helped me choose the correct set up for my specific needs, and challenges. Plus he always recommended cost effective choices without the helmet my set up would have been under $600 which is killer because I got suckered into a blemed demo board 2 yrs ago that I paid $550 for just the board. Thank you Ken! I should be a pro soon if not it’s his fault! ;)

Really appreciated Taylor's willingness to listen and learn my ride style/life style to recommend a board that would suit me for this season of life. I've ridden rental boards for years and it was time to commit to my own rig. He had first hand experience on many of the boards I was considering and every bit of advice helped steer me into what I think will be the best board for me. Stoked for it to arrive and get it out on the mountain! Thanks for everything, Taylor!

This is my first board purchase and I had done a lot of research but making the final decision was daunting. Scott was super helpful, understood what would work for my skill level, and I'm suuuuper excited about what I ended up getting. It wasn't what I had in my cart initially but he gave great recommendations with lots of options. Can't wait to get on the mountain!!
