Prodigy 1 mirrors the shape of the best-selling Prodigy 2, including our award-winning Elliptical Sidecut design and a Full Strength Sidewall for top-notch edge hold. The 2024 Faction Prodigy 1.0 was super fun in the park, on groomers and hard packed snow, even got a chance to test it out in the powder - not quite for the powder since its 88mm underfoot. Ideal for
- Directional Twin tip design allows for ease of spinning and skiing switch
- Camber underfoot and a relatively firm flex rating provides a solid blend of playfulness and pop
- Prodigy 1 holds up well at higher speeds and holds its edge with authority when carving
Not ideal for
- Too narrow for skiing powder or getting into fresh snow, I sank in more than 6" of fresh snow
- Edging in nose and tail is not fully wrapped, edging may come out of sidewall after heavy use
- Do not use in backcountry, more of a downhill focus around freestyle skiing

Great versatility , a fun ski
Originally posted at us.factionskis.com on Mar 13, 2025I use this ski as a true all-mountain ski, meaning in all kinds of terrain and snow conditions, and for that, it’s almost perfect. Whether I’m skiing on firm, dry snow at 2500m or carving through slush at 1200m, the ski is fun in nearly every situation. It’s still playful enough but also cuts smoothly over the piste at high speeds, both on and off the slopes. I would give it 4. 5 stars. It also performs well for regular park use. Its biggest strength is its versatility.

Tyler made great recommendations and really took the time to understand where my skill level is at and where I intend to ski. Ultimately, I was uncomfortable making the investment without trying the skis first, so I ended up buying a pair that I had rented several times and really liked.
