First impression of the Revolt 96, this ski shreds! I had a blast on it, light swing weight with full tip and tail rocker, bit of camber underfoot provides pop, while relatively firm flex rating holds your edge smooth even at higher speeds. A little bit of movement in the nose because of the tip rocker but it does hold up stable and it's relatively firm throughout the ski and underfoot so if you're hitting bigger jumps this ski is for you. Carving was intuitive and easy, very smooth edge to edge transition proves surprisingly nimble given the 96mm underfoot width. They also have full tip and tail edge wrap in the nose and tail creating a more durable ski that won’t have its edges popping out if you’re hitting rails and if you're an aggressive freestyle skier. New improvement to the sidewall combined with the continual edging throughout the nose and tail provides a more durable construction than last year's model and most other twin tipped skis.
- Pop underfoot thanks to the camber mixed with a relatively firm flex rating results in a great ski for jumping
- Full tip/tail rocker allows for a playful ride and easy to ski switch
- Continual edge wrap in the nose and tail along with the improved sidewall design allows this ski to last longer than other twin-tipped skis
- Little bit of movement in the nose/tail at high speed when flat on hardpacked terrain
- 96mm underfoot does not provide the float needed on a powder day of more than 6-9" fresh snow
"BUILT TOGETHER!" The design concept of the Völkl Freeski Family goes into the fourth round! The complete Revolt Range was designed by Swiss illustrator Benjamin Güdel and the Revolt 96 replaces the Revolt 95. The development of the ski was a process over several years with different athletes and came to completion with the Norwegian Oysten Braten and the Völkl Freestyle Team around Tom Ritsch from Austria. The result is impressive in every respect. The tip & tail rocker ski with a new, modern sidecut is equipped with reinforced edges and modified flex zones meant to be ridden in the urban playground or in the park. Whether it's the stair railing behind the house, the rail in the park, or the kicker next to the slope, the Revolt 96 will give you enough pop and stability during take-off to raise your level up a notch.
Of course, the Revolt 96 also features the proven 3D Radius Sidecut and a full-length sidewall for top performance on hard, shaped surfaces. The ski is available in four lengths from 157 to a whopping 181 cm, so that even taller or heavier riders will find the right model for them.
