Originally posted at k2snow.com on Dec 17, 2023I initially picked up this ski to be used as an instructor ski. I liked its light weight and lower cost. Because of its lack of carbon or metal, I expected it to be fun, bendy, and limited. I’d hoped it would keep up for break laps. It has exceeded my expectations. Arcing long turns is a blast on these things, the provide plenty of pop on jumps, the understated graphics can be skied over by small kids without looking too beat up (key feature for an instructor ski), and while it definitely has speed limit, it’s much higher than I anticipated.
Today moved this review from 4 to 5 stars. At my area, what “soft snow” was left had gone through a light freeze-thaw and was crusted and choppy. It took some driving, but I was able to push this ski at speed through the chop with much less deflection than anticipated. It was downright fun.
It has its limits, but I’m impressed. It’s perfect for what it was intended to be. It’ll get skied on more than just instruction days.
