I believe it’s designed for smaller and lighter weight skiers and based on my freestyle experience level I wanted something soft and easy to butter, ollie, nollie, ski switch, spin, etc.
It fits the bill well for this. All my other skis are stiff and hard charging, in various designs, so I’ve never been able to flex the tips and tails very far to get good tip/tail press or pop out of ollies. These are pretty fun! They spin easy, ski switch smoothly, and bend like nothing else I’ve skied, again my freestyle technique is not the strongest.
They do tend to be very forgiving in moguls but for someone my size and demands, it’s not a very stable as an all mountain ski; powder, carving, crud. But I didn’t expect anything different when I bought it,
this was not its purpose in my quiver.
It’s possible that the 179 would have been more stable for me as that’s more in my all mountain length range but I wanted shorter for the freestyle/park realm.
This ski could be a good all mountain choice for an intermediate level preteen/teenager who wants to ski all over, or someone like me who wants a soft ski to hit playful mountain features and get more comfortable entering the freestyle/park world!
