Who would love these

The Blizzard Rustler 9 is such a fun ski, and is perfect for intermediate and advanced skiers who want one ski that can do it all! The Rustler can handle groomers and ice, but can also navigate moguls, trees, and even some powder with ease. A Swiss-Army-Knife of a ski!

Why I recommend these

Versatile all-mountain performance
Easy to turn and maneuver
Customized woodcore for tailored performance
Stable and confident edge hold

Expert verdict

The Blizzard Rustler is an incredibly well-rounded all-mountain ski—this ski does it all, from carving nice turns down groomers to wiggling through bumps and trees and steeps. The Rustler combines a stiffer midsection with a much softer tip and tail, as well as a more rockered tip and tail, so its highly maneuverable in tighter terrain. And Blizzards FluxForm construction places metal bars over the edges, so the Rustler still holds a strong edge on firmer snow. The Rustler is a great all-mountain ski for intermediates to advanced skiers who want a more agile ski: and its a great option for very ambitious beginners who want a ski they can grow on. They aren't as stable at very high speeds as some other skis, and they are a bit on the heavy side, but overall, they are a ski I keep recommending time after time due to their incredible versatility.

The narrowest of the Rustler series, the Rustler 9 is a freeride ski that doesn’t require a big powder day to do its job. It’s founded on two signature concepts: Carbon Flipcore D.R.T Technology and an innovative waist design. The longer the ski, the wider the waist which gives freeriders and freeride athletes more control and float, even on steep terrain. The smooth rocker-camber-rocker profile make it responsive and stable, yet super playful in softer snow and on any type of terrain. From sending spicy lines to transitioning through variable terrain and ripping groomers back to the bottom, the Rustler 9 will eat up any challenge you throw at it and come back for seconds.

The Rustler 9 skis from Blizzard are a versatile all-mountain option that combines performance and maneuverability across various terrain and conditions. With a waist width of 96mm, they offer a good balance between groomed runs and off-piste exploration. The construction of the Rustler 9 skis focuses on a blend of stability and responsiveness. They feature a lightweight wood core combined with... Read more
Ideal for
  • Smooth, quick, and intuitive edge to edge transition with superior edge hold allows this ski to feel top of class with regard to its carving
  • Extremely damp build with metal in the core keeps this ski feeling stable at higher speeds and in the chop
  • Added early rise/rocker in the nose allows this ski to plow through choppy terrain, light powder, and variable snow conditions
Not ideal for
  • Not a whole lot of tail rocker and metal in the core has this ski feeling a bit unforgiving to hit jumps with
  • At 96mm underfoot doesn't offer enough float for the deeper snow days or a true powder day

If you were to try to draw up a design for a ski that can really do everything on the mountain to a high level, I think you would be hard-pressed to dream up a design better than the newly renovated Rustler 9. With ample rocker tip and tail and a full sheet of metal underfoot, it provides enough grip... Read more

  • One of the more versatile skis available, can really tackle everything on the mountain
  • Strong when we want it to be and playful when asked to be
  • Great in soft snow for its size
Not ideal for
  • Someone who likes to drive forward on their skis might find it doesnt have enough in front of the foot to lean on
  • Might not be enough ski for a heavy skier that want ultimate power

The Rustler 9 is the jack of all trades for mid-width all-mountain skis. With a redesign of the model for 2024, Blizzard improved a ski that was already amazing. The Rustler 9 dominates almost every area of terrain and every condition you can throw at it. It is a perfect ski for intermediate to expert-level skiers looking for an all-mountain... Read more

Erik was great!

Erik was very helpful in assisting me to pick out my first pair of skis and ski bindings! I am an intermediate-level skier but have always used rental skis, so when looking to buy my own, I didn't have much of a knowledge-base. Erik was very helpful in answering my questions and with narrowing down which skis would be a good fit for me, taking into consideration my height/weight, skill level, skiing strengths and weaknesses, and price range. Thank you very much, Erik!

This was my first time buying snow sport gear of any kind. Tyler used the information I gave him to give me some really great choices and get me all set up with a board, bindings, and a helmet. He was very responsive to my questions and had recommendations for sizes and settings that I would not have been able to figure out on my own. He was great!

Tyler was super helpful!

Tyler made great recommendations and really took the time to understand where my skill level is at and where I intend to ski. Ultimately, I was uncomfortable making the investment without trying the skis first, so I ended up buying a pair that I had rented several times and really liked. I had so many questions and came very close to purchasing skis a few months ago but now I that I have nearly finished this season I have a better idea of what I was looking for!

Nico helped me decide what length Atomic Mavens to get and bindings. He helped me decide that these skis will work on East Coast ice and Jackson Hole powder. I wish Curated was sticking around because it's such a great service. My cousin bought skis bindings and boots last year with curated and is stoked.

Tyler helped to reassure me on the board I have been eying, while also suggesting the best options for boots and bindings; he never tried to push the most expensive option, but rather gave me a number of choices to consider for myself (and in fact, recommended a cheaper boot option than the one I went with!). He was a great help and I feel confident that he helped me make a solid purchase.

I was looking at updating my board and was just looking around. After a quick chat with John to narrow down which board to pick, he made it easier than going into a store. He helped out with an additional discount that no other website could beat. Too hard to pass up a great deal, I bought the board and bindings. Cheers to debuting it before the season ends!

She knew exactly what I was looking for...
5 /5
I already knew what skis I was trying to find, based on the conditions I wanted to ski and also based on my skill level. Not only did she recommend the exact skis that I had been looking for, but she also recommended a better set of bindings than the ones I had previously thought were a good fit. I love that she's a neighbor over in VT while I'm in NH, so she knows East Coast (Ice Coast) skiing like I do. I'm so excited for the deal I just landed on brand new 2025 skis, and I have Shannon to thank for helping me narrow down the perfect fit. I'm just so sad to hear this amazing company is closing its doors, but while the deals are good and before they go, I will be recommending them to everyone I know! Thanks again, Shannon! Happy skiing!

Noah helped me tremendously. I kind of knew what I wanted but by asking the right questions, he helped point me in the best direction for my changing skill level and age and kind of terrain I'd be skiing more since moving to a different state. He took everything into account. He gave me choices for each item I wanted---skis, bindings, poles---and put together a perfect curation! I'm super stoked to be able to take advantage of the discounts of course, but I never would've been able to do that or even find such great equipment without Noah's help!
