Perfect all around light weight ski
Originally posted at lineskis.com on Jan 9, 2024I'm skiing with telemark bindings. I had been skiing the Bizzard Cochise for several year and loved them. When I turned 70 I started to feel like I needed a similar ski but lighter weight. The vision 108's have fit that bill perfectly. I ski in MN, which is usually very hard packed snow, and CO and these work well for all the conditions I ski. I think that the light weight has improved my Tele technique.

Fun and Versatile
Originally posted at lineskis.com on May 4, 2023In a touring ski I am looking for versatility, durability and fun. Versatility is one way to achieve fun. Its an important way because ski conditions are always changing, so you want a ski that can handle variabilities in terrain and snow. Fun comes from being able to ski well and enjoy your trip from car to car no matter what the snow conditions. Another important way for a ski to be fun is that it can rip. To me that means you can ski the terrain the way you want to – be it make 10,000 wasatch wiggles or crank two huge GS turns top to bottom. I’ve toured on the 2023 version of the Vision 108 over 50 times this season so far. That has come with a lot of amazing skiing. Some of the lightest, deepest snow I’ve ever skied, I skied on these skis, this season. I’d call the Vision 108 a super versatile touring ski. A lot of skis are great in light powder. And these skis, from even a skiff to very deep are amazing. They easily ski short in tight terrain or can haul ass and arc big, fast turns. In heavy powder, where fewer skis shine, these are still great. Some skis can get hung up or hooky as the snow gets a little more consolidated or damp. This wasn’t the case for the Visions 108’s. They ski predictably and plane up really well even as the snow gets heavy. For their weight, they are really planted and smooth in skied up chop, chunder and heavier, consolidated snow. While they were great even in fairly bottomless pow, in more inconsistent conditions this is one area I could see the advantage of an even wider ski. I haven’t tried the Vision 118, but there were a few times I would have liked the extra width for float and stability. Also, for the size jumps I take I don’t really need a bigger platform for stability, but I can see the wider ski being nice if you’re landing bigger drops or jumps.
But the days I wished I had a wider ski were very few, even for the amazing conditions we had this year. So back to the strengths of the 108. I skied these a few times in a rained out soggy mess, sun slop and thick glop. Again, they plane up really well and keep you carving and happily cruising where some touring skis would have been over powered or locked in the heavy snow. I have also skied these in some super hard wind crust and some brutal breakable crust. Far from ideal conditions, but in breakable crust I was pleasantly surprised by how well they kept me on top turning and not locked in and terrified. On super hard, borderline ice, I was unsurprised that they weren’t the ideal choice, but happy enough in their predictability. I was never scared or felt out of control. Though skiing steep, hard snow / ice I would have preferred something narrower with less rocker – something purpose built for those conditions - the 108 did fine for its width and rocker. The 108 covers a huge swath of touring conditions exceptionally well. And only on more specialized conditions would I want something else. Their light weight also helps keep you out there longer - so more fun to be had.
I also got these out inbounds a few times and really liked them. Obviously they’re great in soft snow just as they are touring. They also carve super well, they ski inbounds skied up pow really well too. You can go super fast or wiggle through tight trees. There are limits when the snow gets icy or super rough. This is a very light ski and I am also skiing them on ATK touring bindings.
Most my review is about the downhill performance. Skiing trees or couloirs they are nimble and predictable keeping it tight in a variety of conditions. And in wide open spaces they’re stable and you can let them run. That leaves climbing performance. One thing you can do is just look at the weight. They’re pretty damn light skis. There are lighter skis out there, but I’d be a bit surprised if there are skis this light that ski this well in such a variety of terrain and conditions.
The tips plane up while breaking trail, they hold a good edge skittering up and across sketchy icy spots, they put enough skin on the track to ascend steep, slick skin tracks. The one complaint I had was the rounded tail. The skins I was originally using would constantly slip off the tail on side-hills and other sketchy spots. I got sick of that and got myself a pair of Big Sky Mountain Product skins and my problem was solved. No more issues thanks to those skins. Still, Line, a more skin-friendly tail shape wouldn’t hurt!
These are a five star touring ski for a huge variety of conditions and terrain. They are out performed only in specialized conditions at either end of the snow spectrum. After one season (which isn’t over!), they are still in excellent shape and seem to be very durable after over 50 tours so far. They definitely deliver on versatility, durability and fun.

Tristan was very helpful in pointing me in the right direction. He's got me looking good and feeling good next time i'm on the slopes.
5 /5
I kind of had an idea about what i was looking for, but Tristan helped me really get dialed in with the perfect gear. He helped me with sizing the board because i was torn between getting a wide board or not. He did a great job at explaining what he liked about certain products, so it was very helpful when picking out my stuff. The prices that i have seen for some of this gear on this website is incredible. Tristan really knows his stuff and i couldn't recommend him more.

I had a great experience with Nate helping me find a new snowboard! I’ve been looking to elevate my rides and he gave me so much information but in such an organized fashion that I did not feel overwhelmed. He knows what he’s talking about and had first hand experience on the slopes ! I’m super satisfied with Nate’s help! I ended up buying a new board same day. So stoked for the new season.

Spencer is the man

Came here pretty clueless and wanted to find some gear for cheap, but as we know, gear is not cheap. So Spencer gave me some recommendations on some used stuff I was looking at elsewhere and helped me and my girlfriend dial in our setups for the season! It was super helpful having someone knowledgeable discuss options and specifics with each piece of gear. Very happy customer :)

I was honestly just trying to figure out what the best size board would be for me and he took me step by step through the process. I would not have bought anything if he wasn't so much help. It was an easy process and he made me feel confident in what I was buying. If its your just looking for your first board or looking to replace one Bobby would give you great suggestions that you can select from.

This is my first time buying a board setup, and much would have been a daunting task, except Leif turned that around for me. He made excellent recommendations and took well to my feedback. He was honest with what would be better for my skill set and gave me a range of options. Without Leif’s expertise, id be getting the wrong everything, just wasting time and money. Thanks again!!
