Expert verdict

The Dynafit Radical Ski Bindings are a solid choice for ski touring for beginners and advanced skiers alike. What I love about them is their reliability, simplicity, and ease of use. The Step-In Side Towers make getting into the bindings a breeze, and the reinforced heel unit ensures a stable descent. Plus, the two riser heights are super handy for uphill climbs. The adjustable release value is a nice touch, ensuring appropriate release and retention reliability when you need it most. While they might not be the lightest on the market, their durability and performance make them a worthy investment for anyone pursuing ski touring.

The Radical Binding has been a tried-and-proven all-rounder on classic ski tours for years. It combines durability, comfort and user-friendly handling. Whether your local mountain or a high-alpine ski tour, the Radical is always a good pick. The Step-In Side Towers make entry into the toe piece more than 30% easier. Meaning fast as lightening you are fully and easily ready to get going. At the same time, it increases lateral stability on the descent. The heel unit, newly reinforced with aluminum for increased rigidity, lends even better power transfer between heel and ski, transforming the binding into a long-lasting, durable partner. The Radical has two riser heights you can operate quickly and easily with your pole. The binding also offers 25 mm of flex in its length adjustment, enabling it to fit various sole lengths. Its release value can be fully adjusted both laterally and vertically from DIN 4 to 10. For a bit more safety on ice or crust, ski crampons can also be attached to the Radical ski touring binding. As with all DYNAFIT bindings, the Radical has been developed and manufactured in Germany and offers DYNAFIT's Lifetime Guarantee. Radical You Swiss army knife of bindings.

The industry standard

These are the daily driver. Not setting any skimo records, and also not falling out of my bindings. These feel solid on the feet during the downhill portion of the day, and light enough to do some long tours. Beginners can feel comfortable getting into these and experts should know what they are getting, reliability. I've used plenty, been around plenty, but still manage to come back to this one.

Great introductory, do-it-all binding

Originally posted at www.dynafit.com on Nov 8, 2024
This binding is the first binding I have used for touring. I mounted them on a pair of Salomon QSTs. I chose this one as I had demo-d it for a couple days and I found it fairly easy as my first binding. I also chose this binding as it had a broader mounting area, which in my mind made sense to mount on a stiffer, more hard charging ski. While this is not the most lightweight binding on the market, I performs extremely well. I would recommend this to the vast majority of ski tourers looking for an entry into the sport.

Leo is a legend!
5 /5
I really appreciated Leo’s honestly as most online reviews of the ski equipment I was looking for were far too positive, and really very few people willing to admit or call out truths about various options, however Leo was spot on and understood exactly what I was experiencing with my current skis which perhaps weren’t the best choice for where I ski. That said we had a huge downfall of snow today and my skis performed absolutely brilliantly, but with Leo’s help I decided to upgrade my skis anyway and also needed bindings for my new Atomic Maverick 88ti skis, following Leo’s advice I opted for the Marker Griffin 13 ID Bindings.

Parker was so helpful with sending me recommendations and even created a personalized video that explained why he was making the recommendations. I definitely didn’t expect such great service from an online ski salesperson! I’ve been looking for skis for months now and Parker helped me decide in one afternoon! I would highly recommend this service to anyone looking to purchase skis!

Zach pays attention to your needs!
5 /5
Zach was great at listening to my request and desires out of equipment. As a 1wk/yr skier. He coulg have just said yep here is your weight, ht. budget and here is your gear. Instead he really paid attention to the issues I have had with gear in the past. The desires I had out of my future gear. Look forward to maybe giving an additional review and feedback when I use this gear in a few weeks.
