I loved the thought of the goggle and helmet integration and saw a few brands coming out with similar technology, so I gave Smith a shot with the Survey MIPS. Ideal for
- The Survey has the fantastic integration of goggles and helmet with one product
- The Survey has amazing features like audio compatibility, ventilation, easy buckle, and removable padding.
- Safety, need I say more, this features MIPS
Not ideal for
- The goggles don't form a great seal on the face the way a traditional goggle does so wind would get inside when going fast.
- The inside of the goggles can be difficult to clean especially on the mountain

Worst system on the market

Totally ruined a Northwest powder day yesterday, only made 2 runs due to very poor design the goggle system. Snow blows into the inside of the goggle and vision becomes totally obscured from the snow inside the lens. Of course you just can't wipe it out as you will destroy the coating on the inside of the lens! Any water dripping onto the helmet from the lift towers on a bluebird day will run down behind the goggle and onto the inside of the lens. This system is so poorly designed that Smith should be refunding all of us that bought this garbage!!! This system totally sucks and sound or later someone will be injured due to vision loss!!!! DO NOT PURCHASE!!!

I really appreciated Leo’s honestly as most online reviews of the ski equipment I was looking for were far too positive, and really very few people willing to admit or call out truths about various options, however Leo was spot on and understood exactly what I was experiencing with my current skis which perhaps weren’t the best choice for where I ski. That said we had a huge downfall of snow today and my skis performed absolutely brilliantly, but with Leo’s help I decided to upgrade my skis anyway and also needed bindings for my new Atomic Maverick 88ti skis, following Leo’s advice I opted for the Marker Griffin 13 ID Bindings.
